I definitely agree with the part about not trying to DIY on the bio. It is very hard to write your own bio which is what many of my clients have found when they tried it themselves. Once they had me come in to help them, they were able to have something that said what they were trying to convey but didn't know how to on their own. Great advice Ariel!

This looks like a very easy and functional way to put
together an EPK. I’m definitely going to give this a look next time around. I
like how you’re able to include downloadable files for whoever you deem to be
worthy of retrieving anything you’re trying to get out to people.

Yeah the part about the thumbnails is rather annoying. I've had a number of people tell me that's
a blank thumbnail just screams, "I couldn't be bothered." In fact I had friend who missed or avoided events because of that.I work with a Theater Company that offers different shows. Each needing their own identity for the show outside of the company logo. There doesn't seem to be a way to personalize each event with a thumbnail. Once I change it.....it changes for all events and that is no good. I've also had trouble with the times of the events staying visible. So if it's been more trouble than it's worth. I wish that were not so. Currently I'm searching for an alternative to it. So my experience has been a horizontal thumb!

Be wary of including a first name in the subject field when using Fanbridge. I tried this once last year and sent 700 newsletters all with the subject "Hello [FIRSTNAME], here's a new song". Very embarrassing.

I'm also not convinced that using a first name on a newsletter is always the best way to go. It probably varies from musician to musician but I think we need to be careful of being too personal with fans. Not every fan feels comfortable having that kind of relationship with musicians and being over personal with some people can turn them away.
